 ike Kintgen[/caption]\n\nMike Kintgen\, Curator of the alpine collection a
 t Denver Botanic Gardens\, will give a tour of his favorite alpines  and 
 share rock and xeric gardening tips.\n\nMike began volunteering in the Roc
 k Alpine Garden at age 11 with Panayoti Kelaidis and officially joined the
  Denver Botanic Gardens staff in 2004. Mike holds a BS in Landscape Hortic
 ulture from Colorado State University and a Master’s degree in Alpine Ec
 ology from Regis University in Denver.\n\n[caption id="attachment_18231" a
 lign="alignright" width="213"] Hymenxous grandiflora[/caption]\n\nHis work
  focuses on high-elevation and steppe plants from around the world\, with 
 a recent emphasis on western North American flora. In 2020\, he helped aut
 hor the North American Botanic Garden Strategy for Alpine Plant Conservati
 on (the Alpine Strategy). Mike has contributed to multiple books on alpine
 \, steppe\, and native plants\, including peer-reviewing Plants With Altit
 ude: Regionally Native Plants for Wyoming Gardens (University of Wyoming\,
  2014). A popular speaker\, he has presented across North America\, Europe
 \, and Argentina.\n\n[caption id="attachment_18230" align="alignright" wid
 th="198"] Erigeron compositus[/caption]\n\nMike will cover some of the bes
 t rock garden and xeric plants native to the wide-open landscapes of the W
 est from the highest Mountains to the steppes and plains.   He will cove
 r some well-known classics and show some lesser-known gems that deserve to
  be cultivated more.   He will touch on propagation and cultivations tec
 hniques.\n\nWe are excited to welcome Mike and to learn more about plants 
 for our rock gardens.\n\n[caption id="attachment_18232" align="alignleft"
