SUMMARY:Snowy Range Tour
DESCRIPTION:Snowy Range Botanical Car Tour\nwith minimal to easy hiking\nTh
e Snowy Range\, west of Laramie\, Wyoming is just far enough from the Fron
t Range that weekend traffic is generally much less - and quite a few unus
ual flowers can be found that you won’t find in Colorado.\n\n[caption id
 ="attachment_17474" align="alignright" width="300"] Snowy Range[/caption]\
n\nIn order to do this trip\, however\, it is imperative to get an early s
tart. Depending on weather and other variables\, we should get back home b
efore dark—but if you intend to come don’t plan other activities for t
he day\, please.\n\nAnd please consider carpooling. If you are willing to
drive please be sure your car is gassed up the day before and let Panayoti
know you are willing to do so: pediocactus@icloud.com. If you do NOT wan
t to drive\, also please let him know at that address: he will be able to
gauge how many cars we can reduce to.\n\nDenver Metro members please meet
by 8:15am at Wagon Road Park and Ride (click on this link for map). Please
park north of the Bus Kiosk. Wagon Road Park and Ride is one block west o
f I-25 on the south side of 120th Avenue. We will “condense” cars and
hope to depart by 8:30. If you are riding with someone else\, please consi
der paying $10 to help defray expenses.\n\nAll cars will be stopping at th
e CDOT Rest area and Colorado Welcome Center (click on\n\n[caption id="att
 achment_17475" align="alignright" width="300"] Snowy Range[/caption]\n\nth
is link for map) (at Exit 268 then west on E Prospect Road) where Norther
ly Colorado [i.e. Fort Collins] members can join (click on lower map at ri
ght). We plan to be there around 10:00AM. Call 720-979-1927\, Panayoti’s
cell phone\, if you have questions that morning (or at any other time).\n
\nSeveral stops are planned before and on the Snowy Range—culminating at
Libby Flats Observation tower. And a few surprises as well...\n\nPlease b
ring water (a quart at least per person)\, a packed lunch for a picnic and
a rain jacket (or poncho).\nDo plan to join us: you won’t regret it!\n[
