The Chinle C&S Society developed and maintains a widely acclaimed outdoor cactus and succulent garden at the Colorado State University (CSU) Extension Tri-River Area office at the Mesa County Fairgrounds in Grand Junction, with substantial support and assistance from the CSU Extension.

This garden was designed by club founder Don Campbell and built by club members in 2000. Over 300 different species, varieties, cultivars and hybrids of succulent, xeric and non-succulent plants have been tried in the garden. The garden showcases the astonishing variety of cacti and succulents that thrive in our challenging Western Slope climate.
