Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Teams

There are many opportunities to volunteer and help achieve our Chapter’s goals. Volunteering is also a great way to get to know other members while contributing to the Chapter in an area that interests you.

Please consider volunteering for one of our teams. You do not need to have all the skills or experience required for a particular team. Simply work together with other team members, share your ideas and talents, and together we can achieve our goals.
 

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities available:

Plant Sales Team — Manages the many activities required to make our Spring and  Fall Plant Sales successful. Responsibilities include working with local growers, securing venues, setting up and taking down the sales floor, promoting the sales, coordinating volunteers, printing barcode labels,  and setting up and managing the checkout devices.  We are looking for a team lead and committee members. Events Committee — Manages activities such as program meetings, the annual banquet, and garden tours. Responsibilities include reserving venues, securing speakers and garden hosts, promoting activities, verifying that AV equipment works with the presentation laptop, preparing handouts, and helping with room setup and cleanup. We are looking for a team lead and committee

Refreshment Committee — Provides refreshments for our meetings, manages the refreshment table, and helps make our events more enjoyable. We are looking for a team lead and committee members. Please email vicepresident@rmc-nargs.org

 

ROCKs Task Force — Helps in the observation of our Chapter’s history and works on projects such as publishing a rock gardening book. We are looking for additional members. Please email bod@rmc-nargs.org

 

Scholarships and Grants Committee — Develops and manages grant and scholarship opportunities offered by our Chapter to the community. We are looking for members who can work together as a team. Please email  bod@rmc-nargs.org

 

Garden Angels — Helps Chapter members who are in need of assistance. We are looking for additional members . Lee Recca is the lead.

Mentor Program — Develops and implements programs to mentor members and teach the fundamentals of rock gardening. We are looking for additional volunteers. Tim Morgan is the lead. Please email gateshousegardens75@gmail
